CMAT 2025 preparation plan
Phase 1: Completing the CMAT Syllabus
Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation: Focus on understanding core concepts and memorizing key formulas and theorems. Practice calculations and data analysis techniques. Prioritize clarity over speed at this stage.
Logical Reasoning: This is practice-based, so solve as many sample questions and previous year papers as possible. Try different types of logical puzzles and questions to get accustomed to the various patterns.
Innovation & Entrepreneurship: This is a newer section, so refer to Business Studies textbooks for foundational knowledge on entrepreneurship and innovation. Read books or articles on start-ups and real-life entrepreneurs.
Language Comprehension: Focus on understanding grammar rules (concept-driven) and improve reading speed through comprehension passages (practice-based).
General Awareness: Memorize key topics and current events. Stick to the latest GK books and follow current affairs from reliable news sources.
Key Advice:
Begin with the toughest section and move on to easier ones.
Focus on completing one topic before starting another.
Prepare for General Awareness last, as it requires regular updates but less conceptual effort.
Phase 2: Practicing Sample Papers and Mock Tests
Dedicate this phase to applying what you’ve learned. Practice with previous year’s question papers and mock tests.
Increase speed and accuracy by setting time limits and analyzing your mistakes after each test.
If you’ve already prepared for other MBA exams like CAT or GMAT, focus mainly on practicing CMAT-specific questions.
Key Advice:
Do not start with mock tests until you’ve finished the syllabus.
Analyze your performance after each test to identify weak areas.
Solve a variety of questions, including tricky and lengthy ones.
Phase 3: Topic-Wise Revision
Reserve the last two weeks for revision. Prioritize topics with higher weightage or those that you find challenging, but don’t skip your strong points.
Revise key concepts, formulas, and shortcuts for each section. Focus on solving questions accurately rather than quickly at this stage.
This three-phase strategy will help you approach the CMAT 2025 exam with a strong foundation, effective problem-solving skills, and confidence in revision.

CMAT 2025 cut-offs
The CMAT 2025 cut-offs will be the minimum score or percentile that candidates must achieve to gain admission to top MBA colleges. The cut-offs are expected to be in the range of 95 to 99 percentile for top B-Schools, based on previous trends.
Each participating MBA institute will release its own cut-offs after the CMAT 2025 results are declared in June 2025. Admissions will depend on both the candidate's CMAT percentile and their performance in the individual selection rounds conducted by the institutes, such as Group Discussions (GD), Personal Interviews (PI), or Written Ability Tests (WAT).
Candidates applying for MBA programs with their CMAT 2024 scores can still use those scores for admission in the 2024 academic session. However, those aiming for 2025 admissions should expect the updated cut-offs to be announced after the exam results.
For more details, visit the official websites of your preferred institutes to check their specific cut-off requirements for CMAT-based admissions.
